Data Logging and Playback

The VisiTech RePLAYS™ has the capability to log any type of exercise data. HLA and DIS simulation data is captured. Also, any special data that exists on the exercise networks, such as voice data packets or operator actions, can be captured. RePLAYS™ can include as many loggers as necessary, distributed in any manner desired. It is, thus, expandable to accommodate any size training system or exercise. For example, if data distribution management is being used, numerous loggers could be employed, each with its assigned subset of routing spaces. The playback of all logged data is synchronized, preserving the temporal relationship between all the data during playback. [top]

User Controls

Control of RePLAYS™ is via a simple GUI with DVD-like controls. One panel controls all the loggers. Current capability includes record, stop, play, pause, and jump to a bookmark (with a user selectable offset from the bookmark time) or any specified point in time. Bookmarks denote the time of significant exercise events and can be automatically generated in accordance with user-defined rules, or designated manually. The control GUI includes a listing of all bookmarks, details of the selected bookmark, a timeline representation of the exercise with all bookmarks displayed on it, and the current exercise time of logger playback. Data Mining

VisiTech RePLAYS™ reads selected exercise data into a database. This data can be used for the generation of automatic bookmarks. It also provides the foundation for pre-programmed queries that can provide performance metrics during and after the exercise. The database also provides the capability for user-generated SQL queries at any time during or after the exercise. [top]

Integration

Integration of VisiTech RePLAYS™ is as simple as possible. The system reads the federation and simulation object and interaction definition files and automatically adapts to capture the defined data. A user-friendly interface provides the flexibility to easily identify and designate what data should be captured. This allows integration and tailoring of RePLAYS™ in a fraction of the time needed for other after action review systems. [top]
