MARCI allows operators to manage and control local or distributed machines. MARCI allow users to start/stop one application on one machine or start several applications on several machines in any order on any operating system that has a supported Java Development Kit (JDK). MARCI can also display the status of multiple machines by using a color-coded approach to determine how a machine is functioning. MARCI was created as a distributed application.
MARCI also has the ability to monitor and manage software on remote machines as well. With MARCI a user is able to take a screen capture of any remote machine. MARCI is also able to get detailed information about the machines resources. MARCI can retrieve the amount of disk space available, memory being used, and very detailed network statistics. For the DVTE program, VisiTech produced the necessary MARCI scripts to initiate the entire federation, modified the GUI as requested by the customer, and ported some of the MARCI functionality to Windows XP.
